Mangoes are finally here!!! Yes, it’s that time of the year, time for a mango recipe
My cousin visited us from India with his family, I was very happy to have them over and we ensured that we showed them a good time
He brought along the best gift possible in the whole world! Some mangoes that were grown on his – all natural, organic farm! Best gift I’ve received ever, especially from a brother!
Yes, you are right – they carried them all the way from India to the UK 🙂
I had this smoothie for breakfast earlier today and wanted to share this simple recipe with you all. Now that summer is finally here, at least in this part of the world, here’s one to try in the sun…
I’ve used jumbo oats that I soaked overnight here, you could also use rolled out oats for an instant smoothie too. I also soaked some figs for extra sweetness
Time: 10 mins
Ingredients:
- 60 grams of jumbo oats
- 2 large mangoes or 3 depending on size and sweetness
- 2 dried figs (soaked overnight or for 1 hr)
- Water (that the oats soaked in)
Start by soaking the oats and dried fruits overnight or up to 1 hr if your pressed for time
Then add them all into a blender, along with chopped mangoes and blend to a smooth consistency
Enjoy the sun & the smoothie!
Have a lovely weekend 🙂
Tip: Add in 1-2 soaked dried dates, figs or a banana to add sweetness as the oats tend to reduce some of the natural sweetness of the mangoes. Oats give the smoothie a great taste and texture:)
I tried this, Ariel, and it turned out to be just beautiful ❤️ I used raisins as I was out of figs. Thanks a lot!!
